What is Altus Suite?

Altus Suite is a multi-part assessment that gives each applicant the opportunity for programs to get to know them better, earlier on in the admissions process, by demonstrating their unique competencies and attributes that showcase who they are, beyond their grades.

 

Casper Logo

An open-response, situational judgment test that evaluates aspects of your social intelligence and professionalism such as ethics, empathy, problem-solving and collaboration.

 

  • 2 sections (typed and video response).
  • 15 scenarios (9 video-based and 6 word-based).
  • First section, typed responses: 3 word-based and 6 video-based scenarios. For each scenario, you are provided a total of 5 minutes to respond to 3 open-ended questions at once.
  • Second section, video responses: 2 word-based and 4 video-based scenarios. For each scenario, you are provided total of 1 minute to record your response to each of the 3 open-ended questions.
  • 100-120 minutes to complete.
  • Casper test must be taken on a specific date and time reserved by you. We recommend that you reserve your test at least 3 days in advance of your Casper test date and time, to allow for time to prep by running through the System Requirements Check and taking the Sample test. Snapshot Logo

A short, one-way video interview to highlight your communication skills, self-reflection, and motivation for the profession so you can bring your personal statement to life.

 

  • 3 questions with two minutes to respond to each.
  • 10-15 minutes to complete.
  • Can be taken any time after reserving your Casper test and no later than 14 days after taking the Casper test.
  • Please check your program website(s) for information on whether Snapshot is an admissions requirement or not. Please be informed, if one or more of the programs on your distribution list have opted into Snapshot as part of their Altus Suite then it will be listed as a component to complete in your Altus Suite account.

Duet Logo

A value-alignment assessment that compares what you value in a program with what the program has to offer. *For selected programs only.

 

  • Program characteristics are compared in pairs within several categories.
  • No time limits, but shouldn’t take longer than 15 minutes to complete.
  • Can be taken any time after reserving your Casper test and no later than 14 days after taking the Casper test.
  • Please note that Duet is only applicable to US undergraduate and graduate medical programs.
